EPWS has donated a total of RMB2300,000 raised from the 2007 Business Women Award (BWA) gala to three charities in China.

 

Home Sweet Home (HSH) provides temporary homes, training and life care for disabled migrant works in Shanghai. Open since January 2005, the organization has been serving 20 people with plans to expand to 50 soon. As part of the program, HSH also collects, renovates and redistributes household items and clothing to other outreach organizations. Funds raised by the Businesswoman Gala will be used to purchase special beds for the handicapped, provide additional training in life skills and money management to the clientele.

 

 

 

CereCare Wellness Centre Shanghai is a residential facility that offers therapy and education to young children who suffer from cerebral palsy. Its mission is to help children with cerebral palsy to live productive and independent lives. 

 

  

 

Mengzhuang School is in Mengzhuang Village, Gangwang Town, Zhecheng County, Henan Province. With 5 villages: Mengzhuang Village, Dizhuang Village, Dayang Village, Dingzhuang Village and Duzhang Village and with a total population of 3,000, including 350 school age children. The school currently has about 170 students divided into 6 classes with 7 teachers. The school has an area of 2,000 m2, with 18 classrooms. 12 rooms are in bad condition and 6 are seriously decrepit. Most of the school wall is completely decayed. Now we have 85 sets of desks and chairs for students. In order to accommodate all the local children, we still need 15 more rooms, 90 sets of new desks and chairs, and to repair 200 meters of decayed wall. The school was first built in 1980's. Because the classrooms are small and badly constructed, many students have to go to schools at another village, which affects the quality of education. Zhecheng Succor Society, with the help of CSR& Company, EPWS and the school plan this year to build four new classrooms.
